Environment Card keeps changing 'Screen' to 'spherical'

Hi

I have a project and I would like to render each camera with a different background image, in a similar way to the ‘Background’ card in Scene Manager which only changes the background of the viewport.

When using the environment card, I can load in the different images to use as rendered backgrounds but it changes the ‘screen’ setting to ‘Spherical Environment’.

I have tried attaching the image to a ‘color correction’ map in the hope that it might act as a ‘barrier’, but no luck.

Is there a way to keep the screen setting?

Hi,
I have the same problem, so I wonder if you ever found a solution?

Below is the reply I received. To be honest, I have never tried it out so I’d be interested to hear how you get on:

“When you use the environment card there is no option to keep the screen option. Instead you could set up your map in the V-Ray or Corona render settings and use the Render Settings Override module to fetch the settings.
In this case your map settings will be untouched. The downside could be that this is less intuitive but it should get the job done.”

Not sure if this post is related?

I have found another reply for the issue I raised. Basically, you can’t use a regular bitmap.

  1. Load your background image into a Vray Map (or Corona Map) in the material slate.
  2. Select ‘screen’ in enviroment mapping
  3. Using the enviroment tab, select the Vray Map (or Corona Map) you want to use from the material slate.
  4. In the background tab, select the ‘Env’ radio button.
  5. Repeat for each camera.

I did a quick test with 3 different cameras in an empty scene and it works. I then applied this method to an existing project, it it still worked.
Hope that helps?

p.s. I can’t take any credit for the above. It was Peter (Pulze) that came up with this solution.
