PSD Manager: plugin not recognized

RM does not recognize my PSD-Manager 4 plugin and does not render. What next?

Hi Erik,

I assume you are using PSD Manager version 4. The way PSD Manager 4 installs itself can’t be searched and recognized by Pulze. Instead of placing the files in the plugins directory it creates various ini files that are referencing the files from Program Files, which is great in a way, but Autodesk stopped supporting this way of loading plugins from 2021 (I believe) so we decided to leave this behind. Because of this, it is not a registered plugin by Pulze and since your file contains this plugin the system thinks that you don’t have it, and that is where your problem starts.

To get around this problem you have a few options.

  1. You can always just remove Psd Manager as a requirement from the list before submitting your job

  2. You could remove PsdManager from the plugins.ini and copy the plugin files directly to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max XXXX\Plugins as usual

  3. I believe they changed this behavior in Psd Manager 5, so if you have access to that I recommend installing it

Best Regards,
Peter
