This compact type of folder browser is very tedious to use when changing the output path for more than just a few cameras. Being able to use the ‘larger’ explorer with your quick access folders on the left side would save you a lot of time and frustration!

I guess you are using an older version of 3ds Max. From 2019 it gives you the large version, and below that it gives you the compact one. As far as we know for older versions it is not possible to get the larger dialog for selecting folders.
